Chip Survey

Well Hi!

Its been a while since I have been here what with one thing and another and a new web site which I am just rying to get to grips with! I will give it a go!

First things first HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!

On thursday 12th Jan Eagles took to the street for our winter "Chip survey".

We went in three groups, one group went to Castle View chippy and the Chinese takeaway on White Hart Lane, another group went to Marmaris and The Portchester Grill in the Precinct, and the third group went to Mother Kelly's and the Kebab shop. Each group timed how long it takes from entering the shop, ordering and receiving, and leaving, what size portion we could get for a maximum of £2, how much in weight each portion was, and then the all important challenge of the "Taste Test"!

Here are the definitive results

Value Time taken Taste Weight
Mother Kelly's £2:10 2m 32s 8 400g
Marmaris £2:00 7m 45s 5 700g
The Solent Grill £1:80 3m 11s 15 400g
Castle View £1:70 2m 3s 6 800g
The Kebab Shop £1:50 5m 58s 3 550g
The Chinese, White Hart Lane £1:90 5m 10s 8 750g

So, judge for yourselves! how hungry you are or how much of a budget you are on or how much you would like we did the experiment!

Anyway, I am sure we will have many more fun evenings in the coming weeks!

Yours in Scouting

Well I am not sure if I can write again until we come back, it will depend on if I can get a signal on mobile internet I know we can't get a signal on our mobile phones! My other half is in for a quiet week!!!

Our anual camp is here and as usual I am not organised! I always promise my self every year that I will be ready next year but here we are again!!!!!

We have put in for good weather so fingers crossed there is a bit of summer left for us now!!!

By the way, we can always welcome new and younger leaders/helpers camping IS fun athough a challenge!!

I think us older ones need more help!!!

Sea_Scouts_Afloat_Picos_SlipHelp. We will need some adult help with the boats ashore and also to help supervise cubs between their sessions afloat.
